COVID-19

The new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 is an enveloped virus that primarily causes illness of the respiratory system. It triggers fever, cold and cough, but can also subside without symptoms. In people at risk, such as very young children, pregnant women, the elderly and immunosuppressed persons, it can also lead to more severe courses such as apathy, loss of appetite and weight, pain (head, back, muscles), nausea and vomiting. In the worst case, death can occur as a result of debilitation or cross-infection.

Infection occurs via secretions from the respiratory tract, via smear infection and droplet infection. The Robert Koch Institute continuously records the current COVID-19 situation, assesses all information and estimates the risk for the population in Germany. In addition, the RKI provides comprehensive recommendations for the expert public and gives an overview of its own research projects.

Recently, the first vaccinations against SARS-CoV-2 have begun in Germany. However, measures such as contact restrictions and the AHA+A+L rules - keep your distance, observe hygiene rules, wear an everyday mask, use the Corona warning app and ventilate - remain essential to prevent infections. Pandemic management is a task for society as a whole. It is crucial that everyone participates in it.

Together with our partners, we were able to make a big difference and played an important part in combating this pandemic. Calvatis donates disinfectant in the Corona crisis

After Calvatis GmbH had already donated more than 15,000 litres of disinfectant to various health care facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes in April, the city of Ladenburg now also received a donation of 600 litres of disinfectant for public and charitable purposes.  Mayor Stefan Schmutz and Managing Director Thomas Mohr met on the premises of Calvatis GmbH in Ladenburg to hand over the donation.
