African swine fever
More case of African swine fever has been confirmed in Germany.
African swine fever is a notifiable animal disease. It is caused by a very resistant enveloped virus with a "greasy" lipid envelope, which means that not all disinfectants are able to control the virus.
Transmission: The virus can be transmitted from infected feral pigs to domestic pigs by humans. The disease does not break out in humans, but they are the transmitting vector.
Important: In addition to surface disinfection, vehicle disinfection, boot disinfection and appropriate personal hygiene are recommended.
In this context, Calvatis GmbH provides a comprehensive product portfolio as well as information on prevention against African swine fever. All details can be found in the two flyers.
