Bird flu and African swine fever - prevention measures!

African swine fever and bird flu are highly contagious and deadly viral diseases for their hosts, causing massive economic damage to livestock. The swine fever is not contagious for humans, the bird flu on the other hand can also infect humans with very close animal contact and shows itself in the disease process similarly deadly as for birds. In the area of closed livestock houses, it is mainly humans who inadvertently bring the viruses into the houses: through dirt, clothing, hands, working materials and the like. This makes it all the more important to meticulously observe the biosecurity measures in the livestock housing. Since both types of viruses are enveloped viruses and both have very similar distribution, the measures against both are identical.
